Greenhills College will be holding a family open day on Saturday 13th October to showcase our Secondary School. The event will run from 2pm to 4pm.
Attendees will get the opportunity to take a tour of our school, see what subjects we offer, and meet some of our pupils. There will be lots of fun activities including a football blitz and bouncy castles. Refreshments will also be provided.
The event is open to the whole family. We look forward to seeing you this Saturday!

UCD Access & Lifelong Learing are hosting a workshop this Monday, 8th May in Walkinstown Library at 7pm. The workshop is run in association with the UCD Future You programme.
The workshop is designed for parents and sixth year students, to assist in preparing for the upcoming Leaving Certificate exam and to provide support for progressing to further education.
Well done to the students of tutor groups 1F and 5C on winning the junior and senior class leagues. The winning groups voted on their preferred rewards, and both chose to spend time in our common room.

Christmas examinations will commence on Friday 16th December. All students were in reciept of an examination timetable, and should be preparing for their upcoming exams.
The Christmas break will begin on Thursday 22nd December. End of term reports will be released in January.

Mr Stones 3rd year maths class have been busy this year devising a new program in conjunction with local primary school Scoil Iosa. The project titled “Maths through Lego” gives the 3rd year boys an opportunity to become the teacher as they create a number of fun activities for a maths workshop with the 3rd and 4th class students of Scoil Iosa.
The project so far has become a great success with the primary school students showing enormous enthusiasm for the activities. The Greenhill boys are hard at work creating new activities and can’t wait to get back into the classroom.

UCD Future You is a new initiative that Greenhills College is lucky to be a part of. Fifth Year students can sign up to a range of activities including Summer School, Subject Revision Classes and Mentoring.

Our third and fifth year students were delighted to have the opportunity to partake in our first Careers Speed Event. Students had the opportunity to meet professionals from different career paths and to learn more about those careers.
The event was a great success and we would like to thank all of the professionals who made the event possible.
Well done to all of our 3rd year students who took part in an excellent session of mentor training!
The students are competing for a position on next years team of mentors for our incoming first year students. The students took part in various team building activities and worked extremely hard throughout the session.
The 5th year LCA class went on a Religion trip to St Patrick's Cathedral. The students were given a tour of the cathedral and learned about the history behind it.
As part of their CSPE Action Project, Rang Beckett of 3rd year managed to raise €170 through a non-uniform day in aid of the Simon Community. Well done to all in Rang Beckett and Mr. Waters for all their hard work!
Some of our first year and second year students were delighted to attend a talk from John Lonergan, the former Governor of Mountjoy Prison. Mr. Lonergan spoke to the students about the prison service in Ireland and he highlighted how easily people can re-offend and become re-admitted.
