Description

This course gives students the practical skills necessary for a career in the I.T. industry. This course is run in conjunction with F.I.T. (FastTrack to Information Technology), who provides supports such as Mock Interviews and a Company visit to students during the year.

One year, full time.

Career Options:

Students may find employment in the I.T. industry. They may wish to proceed to the COMPTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) course at Greenhills College, the ICT Associate Apprenticeship Programme through FIT or to Third Level via the Higher Education Links Scheme.

Third Level Progression:

Computer Systems and Networks allows wide progression into numerous Computing related degrees at Third Level.

  • TU Dublin- Tallaght accept this course for all its Computing and Engineering related courses including Computing TU756
  • TU Dublin- Grangegorman offer a range of courses that follow on from this award.

Entry Requirements:

  • Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme, Leaving Certificate Applied Programme, QQI Level 4 or equivalent.
  • Work/life experience is acceptable for mature students.

Students should be 16 years or over at the start of the course.
