Part-time Education and Training with Special Needs Assisting (Level 5)
Description
This course offers a full award in Education and Training over two years. After the first year, students will receive a certificate of modules covered. This course provides a foundation for learners who wish to gain employment as Special Needs Assistants or who wish to continue their studies and progress to Level 6 or higher.
Duration:
Two years part-time for the full award.
Students will receive a QQI component certificate at the end of the first year.

- Peer Mentoring (5N3777)
- Team Working (5N1367)

- Work Experience (5N1356)
- Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme, Leaving Certificate Applied Programme, QQI Level 4 or equivalent.
- Work/life experience is acceptable for mature students.
- Students should be 16 years or over at the start of the course.

Career Options:
The course is suited to those intending to become involved in Community, Voluntary and Care organisations. It is especially suited for learners who wish to gain employment as Special Needs Assistants.
