Greenhills Community College has a very active Student Council which is made up of two students from each year group. The school adopts a partnership approach with our students. The Student Voice will be encouraged and sought. The Students’ Council is democratically elected and is established early in each academic year. Our college will respect students at all times and include students in decision making where applicable.
Each Student Council meeting is facilitated by a member of the school's teaching staff. Minutes are recorded at every meeting and members of the council are given the opportunity to address correspondance from the Principal, and to discuss any topic of relevance to student life. The council are particularly active in the area of fundraising and organise regular events throughout the school year.
Members of the Greenhills Community College student council also have the opportunity to examine and suggest amendments to school policy documents before they are ratified by the Board of Management.
The Student Council liaison teacher for this academic year is Ms. Donoghue.
